The Rooms
Immaculately chosen furniture and linens promise to spoil and cosset you in their perfection. Soft, muted and inviting colours house vintage and antique furniture pieces and wonderfully quirky accessories sure to bring a smile to your face. Vintage textiles, wool blankets, fluffy towels and pure cotton linen infuse both the double and twin rooms with warmth and welcoming snugness.
The Rest
Renovated servants’ quarters with two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, lounge diner and private garden complete with barbeque (as well as access to facilities at Glenholme).The Rookery is self catering gone posh. The building’s interior is country house magazine worthy (having featured in many) and the grounds equally as impressive. Nip into main house for dinner if you fancy a night off cooking.
The Cost
Most of the year there is a minimum seven night stay apart from a few weeks where four nights are allowed. Based on a seven night stay with full occupancy of both rooms the per night cost varies between £40 and £60 per room per night. That's between £580 and £850 per week rental cost. Short break prices are on offer but contact The Rookery for a quote.
Directions to The Rookery
Join the A75, either from the A74 (Junction 22) if heading from England or at Dumfries from Scotland. Follow it West towards Stranraer until you pass Castle Douglas. Turn left on the A711 towards Kirkcudbright. Pass through Tongland village and cross Tongland Bridge. After the Arden House Hotel you will see Glenholme Country House.
The closest railway station is Dumfries and closest airport (90 minutes away) is Glasgow Prestwick.
