Maintaining their heart with chunky blankets, four poster beds and exposed beams; tea and biscuits in the room create the perfect excuse to tuck yourself into the sumptuous beds. Smart Pub rooms have higher IQ than your average but Even Smarter Pub rooms offer a touch more space and luxury.

The Rest

This is a real local pub but owned and managed by a luxury hotel group. The result? A friendly, warm and inviting core with investment in design and access to neighbouring Barnsley House’s facilities. The pub’s various snug sections and log fire are conducive to indulgent meals whilst the view-lacking rear patio is perfect Pimms sipping territory.

The Cost

Smart Pub Rooms come in at £130 per night but Even Smarter Pub rooms creep just above our price promise at a cheeky £155. The roll top baths and four poster beds might tempt you for a special occasion.

The Village Pub is located in the village of Barnsley on the B4425 (Cirencester to Bibury and Burford road), four miles north-east of Cirencester. It is a 90 minute drive from West London by car, 60 minutes from Paddington to Kemble on the train and about an hour and a half from the Midlands.
