Uprooting the country pub clichés The Wheatsheaf Inn knows just which style boxes to tick. Tactile, deep coloured blankets adorn every bed, Farrow & Ball tints coat the walls and on trend decor permeates the fourteen rooms. Unique as their room numbers, some have in room roll top baths, others regal armchairs; all incredibly unique furniture. Excellent and Very Good rooms overstep our price promise but smaller Good rooms still don’t fail to impress.
Deep grey paints sidle up next to mint greens setting a beautiful backdrop for authentic fireplaces, mismatching but eye catching furniture , rustic wood and heavy set curtains. The food is unfaultable as is the wine, recommended by their onsite sommelier. Even if you don’t get to explore the exquisite gardens you will want to encamp in this inimitable retreat forever.
It may officially be a pub but this is definitely one of the most stylish ones in the country. With this much style comes a price tag and thus the Excellent (£230/£210) and Very Good (£190/£170) rooms come in at over our price promise on weekends and weekdays. The Good rooms, which offer so much more than their name makes out can still be had for the more wallet friendly £140 per night including breakfast Monday - Thursday but sneak over our price promise to £160 on Friday and Saturday nights.
