An old City boozer updated into a decadent, luxurious pub retaining its Victorian charm and authenticity. The Fox and Anchor has served the traders of Smithfield market for over 100 years, but its tasteful redecoration has injected it with a unique sense of quirky London style. Downstairs, the pub serves British pub food at its best but being a pub dominates service style rather than hotel aspirations.

The Cost

Bearing in mind that the City of London is most busy on weekdays, the Fox & Anchor is the perfect place to head to on a weekend trip to London to take advantage of cheaper rates. All rooms cost over £150 Mon - Thursday but all rooms except the Market Suite come in at under £150 Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Bargain.

The Fox and Anchor is situated in Clerkenwell, only a stone's throw from the Square Mile. The closest tube stations are Farringdon or Barbican and we recommend you travel by tube. Should you wish to drive, there are NCP car parks in the area but rates are quite expensive.
