The Rooms
Dark coloured paisley wallpaper creates a Belle Epoque inspired undercurrent set amongst original features. Dark coloured walls are offset by bold brass bedsteads, historic photos in embellished frames, impossibly high ceilings and dark wood antiques. Minimalist this isn’t. Creating the feel of a pampered boudoir both of 2 Cambridge Street’s rooms serve up quirky charm and eccentric humour with surprisingly modern (but small), gleaming white bathrooms.
The Rest
The quirky, Victorian style is present through the whole ground floor apartment and is testament to owners Erlend and Helene’s personal sense of humour and love of history. Be spoilt with tea and cakes in the magnificent library before seeking advice on the secret spots in Edinburgh’s city centre (a short walk away). The zen garden is a highlight but the gourmet breakfast with innovative dishes is a real delight.
